Who Are Pantone?

For two decades Pantone have released an official Colour or Colours of the Year, which influence everything from product and interior design to fashion. Their decisions are made after analysing trends, drawing inspiration from travel and entertainment, to even simply considering what’s currently happening around the world.

Whether you’ve repainted your living room or purchased a vibrant new jumper, the odds are that the colour you chose was influenced by Pantone whether you recognised it or not.

Pantone Colours of the Year 2021

Colour of the Year 2021

“A message of happiness supported by fortitude, the combination of PANTONE 17-5104 Ultimate Gray + PANTONE 13-0647 Illuminating is aspirational and gives us hope. We need to feel that everything is going to get brighter – this is essential to the human spirit.”

Pantone’s official colours of the year for 2021 are PANTONE 17-5104 Ultimate Gray and PANTONE 13-0647 Illuminating.

The two contrasting colours combine to emphasise how two different elements can come together to support one another.

Classic and dependable, but at the same time positive and warming, the union of the two colours creates a feeling of hope. The colour gray reflects endurance and strength, whilst the sunny yellow shade lifts spirits and promises that brighter days are yet to come.

Given the challenges we’ve faced together over the last year across the globe, we couldn’t think of two better shades that beautifully reflect our current emotions.

Pear Cut Yellow Diamond Cluster Engagement Ring

The two colours also reminded us of our collection of yellow gemstone jewellery available in store.

Ultimate Gray can easily be incorporated into your jewellery box by opting for white metal designs, allowing you to create that same contrast between cool and warm hues by teaming white metal with yellow diamond or sapphire gemstones.

Our favourite examples of this are from our Diamond by Appointment collection in store. Our collection of yellow diamond bespoke engagement rings, unite striking diamond centre stones in delicate yellow tones with a sparkling white diamond cluster. To enhance the natural yellow glow of the centre stone, they are set in yellow gold instead of white, the end result is a truly unique ring with an elegant pop of sunshine colour
