How to Measure Their Ring Size for a Surprise Proposal
There are always occasions where visiting our showroom isn’t possible. Whether you’re purchasing a surprise engagement ring, or simply not local to us, there are many other ways you can discover the perfect ring size at home.
1. Using a ring your partner already owns
If you have a ring that fits your finger comfortably, you can determine its size by following these steps:
- Find a ring that fits the intended finger.
- Measure the inside diameter of the ring in millimeters.
- Use our Ring Size Conversion Chart below to find your corresponding size.
2. Borrow their ring
If you’re able to, you can always consider sneakily borrowing their ring to visit our showroom with too, at Wakefields we’ll be able to correctly measure the size the same day and you can return the ring to their jewellery box before they even realised it wasn’t there.
3. Make an impression
Gently pressing an existing ring into something like modelling clay, being careful to ensure you don’t stretch it out of shape, is an easy way of making a mould of the ring to gauge the size.
