Being an official retailer of Rolex is an incredible privilege that we are very proud of. Our partnership with the brand has allowed us to build a wonderful rapport with our customers, who choose to shop with us time and time again.

To celebrate this relationship with both Rolex and our customers, each year we host a luxury event to exclusively reveal the new Rolex Basel collection, thanking our customers for their continued loyalty.

This year we hosted selected guests to join us for dinner and an overnight stay at Wotton House, giving them the opportunity to take a closer look at the Basel collection and enjoy a delightful dining experience in the company of true watch aficionados.

ABOUT WOTTON HOUSE

Wotton House Hotel is an exclusive 17th century estate nestled near Dorking’s countryside. The exquisite hotel grounds span 13 acres into the Surrey Hills with plenty to explore, from beautiful Italian gardens and extensive manicured lawns to historic Roman temples.

The historic architecture and elegance of the Morning Room provided the perfect setting for us to exclusively reveal the exquisite Rolex Basel collection to our guests. Whilst the Old Library, complete with 17th century vaulted ceiling, provided the perfect acoustics for the classical musical accompaniment of Mr Andrew Bernardi and Mr George Robinson between dinner courses.

WHAT IS THE ROLEX BASEL COLLECTION?

Every year Rolex release their highly-anticipated new watch models at an event in Basel, Switzerland, called Baselworld.

Baselworld is the world’s largest international watch and jewellery trade show. Open for only one week a year during March, the purpose-built buildings welcome over 700 companies to exhibit at the show and up to 120,000 guests, taking approximately 6 weeks to set everything up in the weeks before.

For anyone outside of the jewellery industry, Baselworld is the equivalent of Paris Fashion Week. The world’s leading brands unveil their releases for the coming year, with retailers, specialty press and editors jostling to pinpoint the latest trends, identifying the most desirable pieces for the coming year.

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS

The evening began with welcome drinks and canapes whilst our guests enjoyed casting their eyes over the Rolex timepieces, during this time they were able to converse with one another and share their opinions on this year’s Basel collection.

Later on guests were invited to find their seats at their tables, with each table name drawing inspiration from Rolex. From Daytona to Yacht-Master, each watch model was honoured during the evening.

Once everyone was seated Melanie Wakefield gave a short speech, thanking everyone for their attendance and all the people who had made hosting the event possible.

Dinner was served in the beautiful Old Library at Wotton House, adorned with stunning floral décor and atmospheric lighting. Everyone indulged in a delicious three-course meal, with the musical accompaniment of Mr Andrew Bernardi and Mr George Robinson between courses – both are incredibly accomplished musicians whose music sounded heavenly within the acoustics of the stunning vaulted ceiling.

Once the evening drew to an end, everyone retired to their rooms, before meeting once more for a final farewell at breakfast the next morning.
