Wakefields Jewellers Elephantastic Herd

Elephant lovers, art lovers & fun lovers of Horsham are in for a treat this month, as the elephant herds arrive in town for Horsham’s much-anticipated Elephantastic Safari Trail.

Wakefields Jewellers has a family of three elephants joining the trail. Our models have been decorated beautifully by local artist Zoe Keable. We think she has done an excellent job!

Elephantastic herdThe Elephantastic fun begins on Sunday 26th July, from 12:30pm at the Carfax, when our elephant family will join a parade of 185 model elephants at a grand unveiling event.

In support of the Born Free Foundation, a beneficiary of the project, booming-voiced actor Brian Blessed will be there. Well-known children’s entertainer Dave Benson Phillips will be amusing the younger members of the crowd.

Afterwards, our elephants will return to the Wakefields Jewellers store on West Street. They will be part of the town centre safari trail, which starts on Monday July 27 and runs until Monday August 31.

Following the event, the model elephants will be auctioned and the proceeds will be divided across a range of participating local charities. The Born Free Foundation has earmarked their share to help fund and build Europe’s first elephant sanctuary in Tuscany.

At Wakefields Jewellers, we are supporting Canine Partners, a charity we have chosen in memory of Graham Wakefield who was extremely attached to his beloved dogs over the years. Graham sadly died this April and we think he would approve!
