Princess Beatrice of York and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi have announced their engagement.

According to the royal announcement, the pair got engaged earlier in September while they were away in Italy for the weekend, taking their time to enjoy their new relationship status privately before sharing their wonderful news with the rest of the world.

Of course no royal engagement would be complete without a close up photograph of the new engagement ring, which Princess Beatrice was only too happy to share.

Princess Beatrice of York Engaged to Edoardo Mozzi - Shaun Leane Bespoke Diamond Engagement Ring

WHO DESIGNED PRINCESS BEATRICE’S ENGAGEMENT RING?

Princess Beatrice’s engagement ring has a unique story of its own. Her now fiancé Edoardo approached British jewellery designer, Shaun Leane, to collaborate on a design for a bespoke diamond ring at his Mayfair studio.

“I am so honoured Edoardo chose to work with me to design the engagement ring for Princess Beatrice and to have been involved in this special moment in their lives. The bespoke experience was a beautiful journey; from imagining the design with Edoardo to the crafting of the finished rings. Being able to incorporate both Edoardo and Princess Beatrice’s characters into the design has resulted in a unique ring that represents their love and lives entwining.” – Shaun Leane

ABOUT THE BESPOKE ENGAGEMENT RING

Crafted from platinum, the ring features a striking round-brilliant cut diamond centre stone surrounded by four smaller diamonds and tapered baguette cut diamonds set along the shoulders. Two matching bands will also eventually accompany the engagement ring.

‘The platinum and diamond engagement ring is a fusion of Victorian and Art Deco designs and is accompanied by two additional matching bands in the distinctive Shaun Leane aesthetic.” – Shaun Leane

A leader at the forefront of contemporary jewellery in fashion, Shaun Leane started from humble beginnings. Starting out his career in the trade, he took on an apprenticeship in Hatton Garden working with traditional British jewellery. For over thirteen years he was fully immersed in the craft of goldsmithing, fashioning delicate antique pieces and incorporating precious metals and rare stones. After taking a break to study fine art and silver smithing at a formal course at Sir John Cass College in East London, he returned a full circle and establish an independent business in Hatton Garden.

Passionate about innovative design, particularly in fashion, Shaun Leane draws inspiration from all aspects of his city surroundings – street culture, urban life and the club scenes are all values and themes he aims to incorporate in every aspect of his design process. He goes above and beyond to ensure that his designs not only function as striking and fun accessories, but say something about the individual. His expressive pieces are vivid, art forms that simply demand to be worn.
