Lydia prepares to be a February wedding belle!
Our Fashion Jewellery Category Manager Lydia’s wedding is looming! With just weeks until her big day, Lydia is remarkably calm and relaxed.
She’s looking forward to the day itself, at Tottington Manor, and also to her honeymoon, which will take her to Dubai, Kuala Lumpur and the beautiful Malaysian Pangkor Laut resort.
A Wakefields’ Love Story
Lydia and her husband-to-be met through Wakefields just over three years ago. We were all very excited when they became a couple in March 2013 – and here they are on the verge of walking down the aisle together!
Following a romantic engagement on the Greek island of Santorini in September 2013, we were delighted to be Lydia’s choice of jeweller to supply her exquisite Krieger engagement ring. It’s a beautiful rose gold ring by fine jewellery specialist Hans D Krieger. It features a cognac oval-cut diamond surrounded by smaller clear diamonds.
Since her engagement, Lydia has calmly planned her wedding, without a hint of ‘bridezilla’ behaviour. She says, “I didn’t really have a vision at the start, I’ve just focused on planning an intimate wedding that’s relaxed and fun for everyone.”
She has ticked off the venue, guest list, dress, flowers and menu, and all that is left to do is enjoy her day. With her Maid of Honour (a really good friend of 12 years), mum and dad to support her on the day, she knows the nerves will bubble up, but she’s fine with that. “I’m not great at being the centre of attention,” says Lydia, “but I guess I will get used to it!”
Country Wedding Style
In the Sussex Downs wedding venue, Lydia is planning a rustic theme, with tables decorated with delicate paper roses. This will be echoed by her hand-tied bouquet, which includes antique roses and rosemary.
I ask if she thinks her fiancé has guessed what style of bridal gown she will wear. She says, “He tried to describe it, and he was quite close as he knows my style well. But he might be surprised by what I’ve gone for in the end.”
While Lydia is close-lipped about the details of her wedding dress, she is happy to tell us what bridal jewellery she has chosen – Ungar and Ungar vintage inspired pearl and diamond drop earrings. Keeping it simple, this is the only accessory she is wearing.
We wish Lydia, her groom, and all her family and friends a fabulous day to remember next month. We are sure she will look absolutely stunning and look forward to seeing her wedding pictures.
Krieger engagement rings are available at Wakefields Jewellers. If you would like to view our engagement ring collections, please make an appointment and we would be happy to help you browse with a glass of bubbly in hand!
While we don’t have a permanent selection of Ungar and Ungar jewellery, items can be ordered on request.
