At Wakefields we’re getting back into the swing of things, after spending our weekend in Birmingham for the Company of Master Jewellers Trade Event. A few members of our team, including Dominic and Melanie Wakefield, were invited to the trade event, to catch up with old friends, the latest news and jewellery brand releases the coming seasons will have to offer us.

With our eyes firmly set ahead to Christmas, the team had no hesitations in purchasing some new, exciting and rather sparkly pieces of jewellery that will be available for our customers in store over the next few months – remember to follow our Facebook and Twitter pages for all the latest releases as they happen in store!

After a day of catching up with our much loved brands and hearing from new faces at the event, the team had a chance to let their hair down at the ‘50’s Swing’ themed after party, complete with big band – it was clear to see that everyone was in high spirits with vintage, retro inspired outfits adorned by everybody there! With a chance to hear from the CMJ’s Chairman, Stephen Hughes and Chief Executive, Willie Hamilton, the evening was both highly enjoyable and emotional as everybody said their goodbyes to Vanessa Riley, the CMJ’s longstanding Support Centre Manager.

After a whole weekend of new releases and memorable moments, we’ve selected our personal highlights to share with you all!

Citizen Watches

The team were all completely captivated by the high-tech stand Citizen had constructed at the trade event, their display definitely ran parallels with their innovative and contemporary timepiece designs and the brand set the bar high for their surrounding jewellery brands – don’t forget to have a look at their full range of timepieces here.

Shaun Leane

We managed to catch up with Shaun Leane himself at the trade event, who will hopefully be attending a special event we’ll be holding later this year too! Shaun was kind enough to personally talk us through his latest ‘Sabre’ collection which will definitely appeal to fans of his previous ‘Tusk’ and ‘Quill’ designs – the addition of pave diamonds set in yellow, rose and white gold give an added touch of sparkle to his striking pieces. Perfect for both every day and evening wear, the unique, geometric shapes will make for a striking addition to your jewellery box.
