The summer of love continues, with yet more wonderful engagement news and a beautiful art-deco inspired diamond ring!

Actress and model, Cressida Bonas, is the latest in a string of celebrity engagements to say ‘yes!’ The “It girl” was proposed to in Nantucket by her long-term partner Harry Wentworth-Stanley over the weekend. The pair announced their happy news in an Instagram post, along with a glimpse of Cressida’s beautiful new engagement ring.

The actress may be an ex-girlfriend of Prince Harry’s but her engagement ring couldn’t be further from Meghan Markle’s three-stone diamond ring.

Cressida’s engagement ring is an octagonal design featuring a large diamond surrounded by a cluster of rubies and another halo of smaller diamonds. The retro-inspired ring is a classic Art Deco style and is known as a target ring, aptly named because of its aesthetic circles.

This diamond and ruby target ring would be a similar style to the design which Cressida Bonas is wearing.

It’s a unique choice, particularly with the incorporation of ruby gemstones in the design, but not when you consider Cressida has socialised with members of the Royal Family. Her close friend Princess Eugenie opted for an oval cut Padparadscha sapphire engagement ring when her now husband Jack Brooksbank proposed in January 2018. Whilst Kate Middleton’s sapphire and diamond engagement ring (which previously belonged to Princess Diana) is arguably one of the most recognisable engagement rings in the world.
