AW15 Fashion Trend Report: The Best Women’s Fashion & Jewellery Trends for Autumn / Winter 2015
With the weather looking less than desirable outside, it’ll be incredibly appealing for most of us to lose the flip-flops and shorts now, in place of warmer apparel. At Wakefields we’ve curated a definitive list of how to style AW15’s hottest styles and trends, straight off the catwalk and into our wardrobes. We’ve combined our favourite selection of jewellery in-store, with some of the high street’s most sought after creations, to show you how easy it is to incorporate some of this season’s stylings into your everyday wear.
A delicate transition from the pastel hues that SS15 bought us, designers are loving the ladylike look. Modest necklines, tailored designs, block heels and elbow length gloves will be seen transported from stately homes and opera houses to the high streets – all things pretty, prim and proper will be tugging at your heart strings this season. Structured jackets and clean lines will be paired with floral headbands, brooches and twisted pearls to achieve elegant sophistication – channel female empowerment and old school Chanel styling when creating your twist on this classic look.
Moody and mysterious, AW15 will see the rise of the gothic romance trend (think 19th century period drama meets glam rock) – if you’re one for making a style statement, you’ll be craving dramatic silhouettes, dark berry lips, intense eyes and slicked back hair to contrast with your statement wardrobe. In order to really own this look you’ll need the confidence to combine sheer black lace with textured leather, with the attitude to match. To really dress up your look, Black Pearls, Obsidian and Onyx and will ice your outfits with a lustrous opulence and a contemporary intrigue that will draw enviable eyes.
Declared as ‘Colour of the Year’ by Pantone, AW15 will be rife with Marsala (a decidedly dusky shade of red). But as we don’t all suit the same colour palette, designers have adapted and incorporated all hues of red in their designs – from scarlet and traffic light, to crimson and ketchup there’ll be no avoiding the striking shades. But if don’t feel bold enough to completely embrace the shade head-to-toe then compromise with a bold lipstick, luxe manicure or statement jewellery piece.

SS15 saw the renaissance of 70’s styling, but this season will see a throwback to all things 80’s – power shoulders, ruffles and retro belts will be running to the forefront of our wardrobes. The decade’s style was all about combining statement fashion pieces with jewel tones and chunky accessories – the more your outfit said the better! If you’re feeling a little faint at the thought of such an eclectic mix though, channel your 80’s vibes, ‘Madonna-style’ through a chunky, gold statement necklace and asymmetric, mismatched earrings.
