Breaking tradition for another year in a row, following the success of the Black Bay Black released last October, TUDOR have just unveiled their latest timepiece to join their ever-expanding brand.

This year, again based on the brand’s navy heritage, TUDOR have launched a Pelagos version of a special batch of left handed divers watches made for the French Navy in the 1970’s.

Winner of the GPHQ Best Sports Watch Award, the Pelagos is a stylish yet functional, luxury timepiece. So it comes as no surprise as to why TUDOR would replicate their overwhelming success with this particular model by creating the Pelagos LHD. With 1 in 10 UK customers being left handed, the release of this timepiece provides a practical alternative to the original, catering to a specialist area of the market.

   

 

“A magnificent example of a tool and symbol of adventure, the Pelagos is one of the most complete traditional mechanical divers’ watches available today. Waterproof to 500m (1,640 ft), the Pelagos is fitted with a movement manufactured in-house by TUDOR. It is now available in a new ‘left-handed’ version.”

Aptly named ‘LHD’ for Left Hand Drive, the winding stem is positioned to the left hand side of the case, so that the timepiece can be worn on the right wrist.

Whilst the timepiece maintains some of the Pelagos timepiece’s iconic, original features such as the helium escape valve, the new model features a new dial reworked with beige luminescent markings and the name ‘PELAGOS’ in red at 6 o’clock.

   The Pelagos LHD is powered with a variant of the TUDOR manufactured MT5612 movement. A high-performance calibre of superb precision and proven robustness, it offers a 70-hour power reserve, meaning that the wearer can, for example, take off the watch on Friday evening and put it on again on Monday morning without having to rewind it.

 

Each Pelagos LHD is marked with a unique number on the back of the case, and will undoubtedly become a collector’s item of the future.

Retailing at the same price as the current Pelagos, at £3,020.00, this exciting and exclusive timepiece will become available to purchase at Wakefields in the coming months.
