Cannes Film Festival 2017: The Best Jewellery Looks So Far
One of the most highly anticipated red carpet events of the year took place yesterday, the Cannes Film Festival. A lavish event renowned for attracting the stars, the event is always a lavish array of celebrities exhibiting a spectacular assortment of fine jewellery and luxury gowns. And this year certainly hasn’t disappointed. So here’s our personal, jewellery & sartorial style highlights from all the red carpet has had to offer us so far.
The fresh faced model, Bella Hadid, stepped out onto the red carpet, sporting a decidedly demure look. Teaming her satin, nude gown, with minimal makeup and perfectly tousled hair, Bella completed her look with an outstanding diamond and sapphire gemstone necklace that stole the scene.
The incredible 180-carat sapphire stone was surrounded by over 28 carats worth of pavé diamonds, leaving the simplicity at the door with this statement piece. We think Bella achieved perfection with this particular look, and simply can’t draw our eyes away from the outstanding sapphire gemstone.
Twinning with her model friend Bella, Emily Ratajkowski sported a very similar look. Again, opting for a nude satin gown, Emily mixed things up a little by styling her dress with a smokey eye and up-do, creating effortless ‘french-girl’ chic.
The model embellished her look with an undeniabley striking, gemstone necklace. The huge, statement piece was adorned with a mix of diamonds, rubies, pearls and emeralds, and is arguably the most memorable piece of jewellery from the event so far.
Tapping into the biggest trend of 2017, statement earrings, Hailey Baldwin teamed her striking sapphire blue gown with some truly outstanding diamond drop earrings. The tiered, fan-shaped style, beautifully balanced her bold look and certainly grabbed our attention too.
Embodying SS17 style in every way, Naomi Harris sported decidedly more delicate jewellery designs. Letting her technicolour Gucci gown do all the talking, Naomi completed her look by layering up diamond-adorned necklaces, creating an overall dreamier aesthetic in comparison to the more statement pieces mentioned earlier.
Appearing on the red carpet sporting a dramatic meets gothic gown created by Alexander McQueen, Jessica Chastain stood out amidst the stars. Sporting her trademark loose curls and a bold lipstick, Jessica continued her red accents by opting for a stunning ruby and diamond statement necklace – a continuation of the trend we’ll be keeping our eyes open for in the coming days.
In short, there’s no denying that when it comes to jewellery this year at Cannes – the bigger the gemstone, the better.
